Little Tidbits from the Sprouts Garden

What an adventure it has been these last 13
months as the Nursery Ministry Director. I want to thank God
for the opportunity He has given me, to grow and be a part of
a truly amazing staff. Thank you to all my volunteers, you
have all been so great. Your servant spirit, your friendship
and all the behind the scene hours spent in this Ministry
gave me such joy. To all my little friends in the nursery and
those who have moved on, you are Gods gifts to this church
and this community and it has been my greatest blessing to
have spent my Sundays with you. I am excited to pass on the
reigns to a very well qualified, Marian Conkey. She is
introducing a program that I for one cannot wait to be a part
of. I look forward to volunteering as one of her teachers for
years to come. I also plan on spending more time with my
three wonderful children and my best friend, ever so patient,
husband (JD).
Tracy and I are glad to welcome Marian Conkey
as our new volunteer Nursery Director. Marian brings years of
experience in previous churches having set up several nursery
programs. In addition to being a great C@C grandmother,
Marian has real vision for infants. She has a great program
where these babies can really learn about God. Her vision is
more than just providing babysitting; it is to provide a real
captivating learning experience for our children. Under this
new program we will only have infants from 0-23 months in the
nursery. We’ll be taking the toddlers older than 24 months
out to make sure the nursery is safe for the babies and to
provide a good learning environment. We will also
be installing a Dutch door on the nursery so that we can keep
babies and nursery workers in and the rest of us dirty feet
people out. Parents make sure your infant gets in on this new
opportunity.
New 24-42 months Toddlers Class
Since the nursery will be only for infants Susanne Shimp our
Children’s Ministry Director will be putting the team
together for a 24 – 42 month old class starting the first
Sunday of June. These toddlers will go to their own class
right after the Children’s Story which will be at the
beginning of the service. Then after the sermon they will
come back in to worship with their families. While all this
is starting the first Sunday of June both Susanne and Marian
are in the process right now of putting the rotation
together. Please consider if God may be tugging at you to
serve these Church at Carbondale VIP’s.
Ages: Birth to 2 Years
 During the Church Service and during Sunday School, Babies
and toddlers are provided with a safe, nurturing environment where they can play, interact with other children
or just be cuddled.
The nursery is trying out a new rotation schedule for the parents and volunteers. We
would like to invite you to share the love of Jesus with God’s little children and join our team of volunteers.
A BIG THANK YOU goes out to all our current volunteers, your servant spirit is deeply
appreciated by the parents and by the “Sprouts” who have a safe, fun and caring place to play.
