The MOTTO: Look for opportunity, create opportunity and capture opportunity to be hospitable to God’s chosen guests. 

What are a few of the benefits for you and others just for being a hospitality usher?

• You get to help people feel accepted and valued.

• They feel special when welcomed, and their presence is appreciated and desired.

• We can provide security and comfort to people who need some direction on what to do, where to sit and where to send children.

• Help with the flow of coming into the service so they know where to go and don’t feel embarrassed looking for seats. It can be very uncomfortable when you're visiting.

• You are serving God’s guest and making them feel more at home. It’s a critical part of the job.

Every Team member’s opportunities:

1.  To Be the warm smiling faces that you are presenting.

2.  Continue to be a great first impression.

3.  Introduce them to people who could be helpful to them. Get to know the church leaders, and child caregivers.

4.  Show them or take them and or children to appropriate classes.

5.  Make GOD’S guests your priority.

6.  Become one of the consistent people who talk to guests instead of your friends for the first 10 minutes before and after the service. Make it a real priority. It’s a critical opportunity. Before Service, After Service connections . BS’ers and AS’ers, I am sure a few of us will qualify for the BSers.

7.  Discussion starters to use: Where are you from? Where do you live? When did you move here? What type of work do you do? Tell me about your family. What got you started at church here? How did you find our church? This helps prevent back door syndrome (people leaving church because no one remembers them or connects with them).

8.  Try to remember names. I use small booklet in my pocket. Also we can review as a group and help each other.

If once a month for 20 minutes you could help people feel at home when hey come to church would you want to do that? Ushering affords you that opportunity! We need at least 6 more people. More...
