Children's Ministry
Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them,
for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
Just like our adult church, our children’s
ministry at C@C wants to be a fun place that will lead each young person
into a relationship with Jesus Christ.
KidMountain Sunday School 8:50 – 9:45am Sunday
Here is an overview
of what we will be teaching:
K-5th grade Sunday
school class 8:50 - 9:45am
-
January - Kids
will be learning the biblical virtue of Resourcefulness: “Using what you
have to get the job done”. Essentially, resourcefulness boils down to the
why and how of our work. The fact is that God gives us work, so we need to
work like we're working for Him, even when no one's watching. We need to
do our best, and trust that God will do His part and that He will give us
what we need to get the job done. So this month we're "taking care of
business"----using what we have to get the job done.
-
February - our
biblical virtue of Fairness which means “Making sure that everyone is
treated respectfully”.
James 2 says "As believers in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ, don't show
favoritism". In other words, don't unfairly favor one person OR unfairly
disfavor another. So in February, we'll be going to the "Fair Grounds,"
where everyone is treated with respect.
2-5 year old
Classes 8:50 - 9:45am
In our sprouts (24-36
months) and Kingdom Kids (3-5 year olds) classes we want preschoolers to
take a first look at who God is and understand… God made me, God loves me
and Jesus wants to be my friend forever. Every month our “first look”
curriculum directs preschoolers to these three truths. Combining this
wonderful new curriculum with some really great teachers provides our C@C
preschoolers a really great foundation.

Duct Tape Challenge:
Duct tape is the universal tool of choice if you have to be resourceful.
Family Church presents the same virtue, “Resourcefulness”, that the kids
are learning in Sunday school. So the challenge for families this month is
for parents to collect enough examples of their kids being resourceful.
Each example will represent a portion of duct tape so that at the end of
the month if there is enough tape I have agreed to be Duct Taped to the
wall. I weigh 250 lbs so it’ll take a lot of resourcefulness to make this
stick!
We are having a lot of fun and we would love to pack in as many families
as possible, so see you at 10:15 Sunday!

Sprouts
Teachers will use story books, bulletin boards,
and the Bible to teach toddlers about thankfulness, Abraham, Sarah and
Noah. We will reinforce the lessons with repetition, encouragement and
simple questions.
Kingdom Kids
Preschoolers will learn about creation, Jesus’
miracles and Zacchaeus. Teachers will utilize Bible discovery packs, big
books and learning mats to teach Bible truths in a creative and active
way.
Buds & Blooms
Teachers will start Fall 2007 concentrating on
the Old Testament. After the new year they will move onto the New
Testament with emphasis on Jesus and His walk on the earth, being a
friend, following Jesus and seeing His power.
Girls of Grace
PIONEER CLUB PATHFINDERS started this Fall. Boys
and girls continue to meet separately. We are using the Bible to teach
them to have faith, live a Biblical lifestyle and help the children
develop a sense of whole being and personal individuality. We collect
offerings and take prayer requests. In addition to that, each child gets a
workbook and a banner to leave in their classrooms. They refer to their
workbook each Sunday to accomplish Bible and Activity tasks. Each task
completed gets them closer to earning a particular Bible or Activity badge
which we will display on individual banners in the classroom. The Bible
Exploration time includes scripture study, application and memory verses.
Boys
Club Adventure
A Boys' journey
towards manhood begins with a time of exploration and wonder. Boys 2nd
through 5th grade join together as a 'Band of Brothers' discovering God's
love for them through his word as it relates to nature, science, and
history. We also explore different hobbies and occupations held by various
Church members. Leaders and 'Special Guests' incorporate Biblical themes
together with activities such as archery (missing the mark) and others to
illustrate how God's ways are evident in all aspects of our lives.
Relevant scripture memorization and application is a key focus.
